An amphora is a type of container of a characteristic shape and size, descending from at least as early as the Neolithic Period. Amphorae were used in vast numbers for the transport and storage of various products, both liquid and dry, but mostly for wine.

A graduate of the Philadelphia University of Arts in Jewellery and Metalsmithing, Maximos has been designing jewellery since 1989 and has created exclusive collections for prestigious fashion houses, jewellery stores, galleries and museums worldwide.
Inspired by his Greek heritage, Maximos Zachariadis first designed the Amphora Collection for the British Museum.
