A little history… Associated with the Egyptian god of fertility Osiris (thought to represent his spine) and creator god Ptah, the Djed Pillar is an Ancient Egyptian symbol for stability – not only a firm footing, but immutability and permanence.

Egyptian Faience: In Ancient Egypt objects created with Faience were considered magical… the blue/turquoise colour glaze linked to the undying shimmer of the sun and powers of rebirth. Egyptian Faience is the oldest known glazed ceramic and was first developed more than 6000 years ago in Mesopotamia.
